Configuring An HP Deskjet 1050 on Ubuntu 10.4

My brand new “mega computer” arrived today. It’s bt far the most powerful computer i’ve owned and it’s about the cheapest pre-built computer i could put together from www.pcspecialist.co.uk. Thankyou very much btw. It’s awesome.

The one problem i found with it was installing the printer, an HP Deskjet 1050. It was recognized by Ubuntu but when i tried to print anything other than a test page it refused to work. It wasn’t sending any documents to the print queue so i hit Google, confident that I would find someone who had also had this problem (there almost always is).

And here they are for future reference… http://winunixmac.com/tips-and-tricks/74-how-to-configure-a-hp-deskjet-1050-on-ubuntu

A concise and accurate explanation of what to do to get the printer working. Brilliant.

Mega computer is officially mega.
